Intersections of the
Triad's mission is to provide temporary and permanent housing to the
homeless and HIV/AIDS populations, workshops, mental health,
substance/alcohol treatment, child care, HIV/AIDS prevention, social
services to at risk adults, adolescents and families. Our second goal is to
provide targeted social services that are readily accessible. Clients can
use this to increase their capacity for self-care and equip them for the
most appropriate level of independence. Intersections of the Triad's staff
composition include staff members who themselves are successful survivors of
adversity. The survival skills and desire for success of these unique staff
members make them especially equipped to reach out and establish important
relationships with clients of comparable life histories. Our third goal is to
assist clients in moving forward with their lives. For some this will mean
that they will go to work, begin to live independently and assume increased
responsibility for their family, finances, housing stability and their
overall future. Those clients who are most difficult to serve due to related
issues that cannot be resolved through the work of Intersections of the
Triad are referred to the most appropriate community-based organizations to
help facilitate and coordinate the needs of the clients. For all, the
journeys will be distinctive and personalized. Our contribution rests in
helping to stabilize clients moving toward and in clearing pathways to
resource options that are not presently accessible for a variety of reasons
associated with the clients, the "system" and the culture. |
